Harwood Williams leaves DCC
After over 20 years and an insurmountable amount of runs, club legend Harwood Williams has left Dunnington to move onto pastures new.
Harwood Williams has moved to Bardsey CC, closer to his home in Leeds, after an injury hit 2015 and 2016 and a "thank you for your service" match arranged in the summer of 2016.
Despite his powers waning in recent years, it is without question that Harwood has been an incredible player for Dunnington and York cricket in general over the years. Many a local bowler has been put to the sword since the late 90s when he joined the club, when we were at the peak of our success. Harwood's most successful year for Dunnington came in 2009 where he scored over 1300 runs, including 5 centuries, in a year where he won the league batting award. He has also helped arrange numerous tours to the Caribbean for our players and supporters to test themselves against overseas opposition.
The club would like to express our gratitude to Harwood for his efforts over the years and the success he has helped bring to the club in this time. We also wish him success in the coming season with his new club.
